Directs and coordinate repair operations of the shop service department. Ensures increased level of employee satisfaction while improving the efficiency of manpower, materials and machines. Additional duties of the position include the running and reviewing of vehicle efficiency reports, opening and closing repair orders, quoting customer repairs and facilitating technical support
Ensure a safe and productive working environment; enforce safety procedures; maintain professional atmosphere; prioritize repair work; direct the oversight of the technicians; help coordinate technician training; provide input on the scheduling and assigning of work to the technicians; assist OTR drivers by phone with troubleshooting mechanical issues and facilitating road repairs by identifying issues through close contact with approved authorized repair facilities for after hours on the road repairs and/or towing situations; oversees the daily operation of maintenance facility, assist with work assignments, and assisting mechanics; directly supervises 1-20 employees in the shop; carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws; responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, addressing complaints and resolving problems
Must possess a valid drivers license; an associate degree in applied science or diesel repair, or a combination of education and experience.
